The WOW trailer was quite possibly the best ten minutes of my life. I'd kill to have a copy for myself. KILL I TELL YOU. Or pay money. But I'd rather kill.

Paid a hefty price for it too.
Whoa, if the following two auctions I just looked up are any indication, that's quite an understatement!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1559921003 ($230, 1 day to go)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1561490818 ($76, 9 days to go)
Yikes. :frowning:
Man, I would love to have a demo disk like this, but something commerically available would be preferable... I was actually just thinking yesterday how cool it would be to have something with all the THX and DTS intros, and maybe even studio intros, on it. (Does this disc only contain the THX trailers or also "third party" ones?)
With DVD producing/copying becoming more and more common, it seems like someone could build a cusom disc. Of course, that couldn't be sold...

Check the completed auctions for this baby. One went for about $800!!!!
I also sell home theater equipment and would like to get in touch with a THX rep.
Jeremy, can you email me details: [email protected]
Thank you,
JW
Let's hope they will sell this DVD from their site!
As a WOW LD owner, I would LOVE to have it on DVD, enhanced 16x9 and in 5.1 :)

Hello all. This would be a nice disc to get, but the price on eBay is outrageous. I actually heard the WOW! demo in 5.1 at the WOW! room at Celebration II down in Indy this past May. It was absolutely outstanding! Let's hope they release this disc or something like it commercially to the public.

Question for those who have the DVD.

Are the Star Wars scenes still from the original version of Star Wars or the SEs?

For instance, the ROTJ Death Star explosion (original or new with shock wave coming out?)

Thanks!

The wow! demo contained on the DVD is the same as contained on the LD. It was produced long before the SE existed. The Pod Race is the original theatrical version, not the extended version contained on The Phantom Menace DVD.

It is blue, with the THX logo on it. Be careful of many imposters on ebay.

I just aquired the Ultimate demo disc, and I am frankly a little dissapointed with it. It may be a case of a product being overhyped(sound familiar), I know I was hoping the Wow! feature would be my new demo material for friends. Not the case, I'll stick with my other demo's from movies like AOTC, LOTR, and the like. It was really cool to see the montage of the Original Trilogy, and Indiana Jones movies in anamophic widescreen, and DTS, but I guess I was looking for more from the sound aspect of it. Anyone else agree, or am I in the minority? Just my .02 cents.

If you look at that guy's feedback, here is one of the recent entries:
robbie-prowler( 12) Jul-04-03 10:25:24 PDT 3334686950 S
Praise : dvd copy no good in my player, but very quick delivery & emails, recommended A+
The feedback from robbie-prowler was for an auction for the same thing (THX Ultimate Demo Disc), so it seems like it's a copy, which would explain the price.
Here is another recent feedback for the same item:
always2themax( 48) Jul-01-03 22:07:16 PDT 3333412804 S
Praise : Fast shipping and an awesome copy. Thanks!

"Praise : Recieved it in no time!!! Excellent quality for a DVD-R!!! Highly Recommended!"

For years I have wanted the THX WOW laserdisc.
I tried to get friends to sell their copy and
even contemplated paying an outrageous amount of
money to buy it off a seller.

All I wanted was to own the infamous Lucasfilm
"homage" that played at the very beginning of the
laserdisc.

Well folks, after all these years, I was very
lucky to get my hands on the THX Demo DVD. The
disc is just outstanding -- and to top things off --
that LucasFilm homage has been remixed in 5.1
and sounds better than anyone could have imagined.

I'll never part with this disc.

Maybe the dvd-r was for a different auction. I bought my copy from him over a year ago and its not a dvd-r. Its a dvd-9, just under 8gig worth. I have no reason to doubt its not legit.

I'm sure you could get it to fit on a dvd-r if you removed the DTS track.
