I am interested in utilizing the THX Optimode TV calibration i've seen on some recent dvd's and I'm wondering what type of blue filter specifically I should be using. Is it the same type of blue filter that comes with Video Essentials? Someone told me the Kodak filter # but have ben unable to track down the # (or the post - the search function is down). I have a FULL set of Rosco filters from 1995 and I would assume that I have the corresponding filter, but have no idea which one to use. Calibrating with the wrong one would be a bad idea. Does anyone know anything about using Rosco filters for colorbar/THX calibration?
    thanks!

I'm no expert, but I can suggest one option: go to THX's page, and you can order a blue filter for the price of a SASE. It's linked off one of their Optimode pages, I believe.

If you are comfortable with your TV's service mode, you may be able to shut off the red and green guns while calibrating and eliminate the need for the filter.

Go ahead and order the free filter from THX. I believe it is the same kind of thing to Video Essentials filter strip. But, the one from THX comes as cardboard glasses like those 3D glasses you sometimes get. IMO, easier to use.

Personally, I would not use the THX optimode, especially since you have VE.
