Three Speaker Setup (1 Viewer)

After countless attempts to install surround speakers in our very odd shaped room I believe that I'm ready to throw in the white flag and settle for a three speaker setup - (Infinity Alpha 50's as Front Right and Left and a Alpha 37c as Center). An Infinity 12" 250W subwoofer may be added if appropriate. The AVR is a Harman Kardon 525, the TV a Sony KV-36HS420, the DVD a Denon 2200.

Advise, comments and any "Hail Mary" alternatives are certainly welcome.

Have you tried putting the surrounds on stands? Both my current and previous systems are/were this way and it works fine.

IMO, don't bother with the Infinity sub, take a look at the offerings from SVS and HSU. Much better subs for the money, and a sub is almost always "appropriate" .

Well could you possibly make a diagram of your room so we can see what your talking about. Are you having trouble getting surround speakers behind you or are they in the walking path etc?

You could look into some ceiling or in wall surround speakers. They wont be timbre matched with the mains but In my experiance having matching surounds isnt really needed unless you are listening to multi channel music. Something like these maybe.
