Saw this one at Best Buy the other day, and had never heard of the brand. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this plasma. I was holding off on buying a bigger TV since I'm going to be moving soon, but figured a plasma at this price would be alright.

    Thoughts, comments, concerns? Please!

Take a look or ask around at avsforum.com

    They'll probably know more.[IMG]

At 1200:1, the contrast ratio seems on the low side. Another problem could be the lack of a DVI or HDMI input....one that would be HDCP compatible. At present, some HDTV can be had over component but in the (maybe) not too distant future, lack of an input that utilizes HDCP may be a problem. Price looks good, but for a little more money I'd look elsewhere.

If you do decide to buy it this weekend, don't forget to use the printable 10% off coupon on the Home Theater Forum deals page, which brings the price down to $1799.99.

Oh yeah, that TV also makes you eligible for a $100 best buy gift card by mail.

I'd have a problem spending 2 grand for a tv that downscales hdtv to 480p....

There's an avsforum guy that just ditched his Maxent 42" - he had a lot of problems. He's replacing it by doing a deal at Best Buy (using the 10% off coupon) on the Panny 42" ED - probably the best 42" ED unit.

Comes to $2400-ish - same as internet price for the commercial models.

Over at avs he can't post the vendor (forum rules). See his post over on fatwallet...

See his post here detailing the deal:
