Has anybody seen those new WallMart DVD ads? The one with the elderly guy praising the 'technology you would not believe' with a face that suggests he had just found Jesus, and the high strung teenager (who looks eerily like the Dell boy) gushing over how cool their selection is? Ahh, I laugh my ass off every time I see the ad. 'The wave of the future', 'the selection is AWESOME!', etc.... They say this and then show an image of somebody closing a DVD tray by pushing on it with their hand! Oh, the humanity[IMG] What's next? Some little old lady dumbfounded and amazed by the fact that an entire movie is contained on this little disc?

Yea just one half of the aisle is no where near a good selection. I chuckle when they come on too. I don't understand why Wal-mart would even buy the commercial time and dedicate 100% of it to a market they don't specialize in. I can't even imagine the mess I'd be in if I tried to ask a Wal-mart employee if a certain DVD was anamorphic or not.

Side note- I went into Wal-mart tonight at around midnight after watching Minority Report and some guy passed out right before the exit doors. Then they had most of the entrance walkway totally blocked off for even more manuevering fun. What a classy place that wallymart is.

Well...since Wally World is home to much of the Joe and Jane Sixpacks of Society, I pretty much avoid anything and everything to do with that place. I never have, never will, and will NEVER set foot into a Wally World. If I ever reach the point where I enter one, I want one of you brave souls to shoot me on sight, okay? [IMG]

These commericials are the funniest stuff on TV. They are so in awe of the greatness of their own store. They can't even appreciate the technology. There is an old man talking about how it's like a theater in your home but would that old man even know how to operate a home theater? Nope.

Nevermind the whole censorship thing Wal-Mart participates in with their media. I wouldn't be caught dead with a Wal-Mart purchased CD or DVD.
