depends on where you ordered it from and how many they have and how many are on order and a few other things. i had mine 5 days after i ordered it. of course it could vary for others. its worth the wait, believe me.

I ordered mine April 22. It shipped April 24. I rec'd it April 29.

I fell in love with it about 5 minutes after I ran Auto-MCCAC...

I ordered mine from Etronics on a Wednesday night at 10pm Pacific time. I figured the less time it spent in the hands of UPS the better, so opted for 3 day shipment. When I got home from work on Thursday, I had an e-mail from Etronics informing me that my credit card had been verified and that I should receive an e-mail confirming shipment the next day (Friday).

I rushed home from work Friday to check my E-mail and as I approached my condo noticed this great big box blocking my front door. Inside the huge box was a mereley big box and about a cubic yard of styrofoam "peanuts". Inside the merely big box was my new VSX-45tx.

I swapped out my Sony 333es, ran MCACC, manually reset my speakers as Small, popped in LOTR EE and became an instant convert. I was hearing subtle detail I hadn't heard before, better imaging and separation, and more intelligible dialogue. It sounded so good I decided against a speaker upgrade I'd been considering.

I have had mine on order from a local vendor now for 3 weeks. I called them yesterday, & they can't tell me anything about a delivery date. They said the delay may be due to a model change?????????? Has anyone heard of this? I also have Klipsch speakers on order from them. I may give them a few more days........then it will be time to cancel. If I do cancel, any suggestions on where to order the receiver?

"They said the delay may be due to a model change??????????"

When I said I ordered mine April 22 and it was shipped April 24, I think it was due to a model/firmware change. However, I only had to wait 2 days.

I got mine from an authorized Pioneer Elite dealer (full 2 year warranty) in Utah. Notice I said authorized Pioneer Elite dealer. There are authorized Pioneer dealers and authorized Pioneer Elite dealers, two slightly different animals.

Josh Lehman ([email protected]) expedited my deal. he's a good guy.

Steve, I can understand that! I use Nautilus 804s for mains, a Nautilus HTM1 center, and twin SVS 16-46PC+s. The setup sounded darn good with my old receiver. Now, it sounds completely different. EVERYTHING sounds much better!

To me your local dealer is not fully going to bat for you. IF your local dealer is happy with getting vague ship dates from the manufacturer and vague product information as well, then that's unacceptable for the retailer. A lot of times these retailers think that you should feel privileged to be able to buy from them, so sometimes (unless you're buying a lot from them) they really won't go out of the way for you if you're the average joe just buying a component or two. I'm saying sometimes this happens. I'm sure there are plenty of other dealers out there with top notch customer service.

So, to get to my point (yes I do have one), in today's world of supply chain monitoring and tracking, being able to utilize Available to Promise processes, and increased focus on customer service (Mfg. > Retailer and Retailer > End Consumer), your dealer should not settle for these vague replies from Pioneer. Kindly call them up and tell them that vague answers don't fly, and that you would like them to call Pioneer again and get some concrete dates and information. If they don't want to do that, then ask for their Pioneer rep's name and number and you'll take care of it yourself. Sorry for the long post, and good luck.

For all of you new users - over on AVSForum under the audio forum is a Thread entitled the Manufacture date thread. That has about 40 Pioneer Elite users listed.

Please fill out your information and I'll update you in the system.

It also gives you a list of people to PM with questions.

Just do a search for MikeRP and you'll find the thread.

I know some of you above already have! Thanks

BTW - its obvious from the posts that Pioneer has fixed the orginal shutdown problems the early units in this series had experieinced and now I think it is one of the best units out there for the money.

Mike
