While into HT, I'm more into good sounding home audio
(styx, rush dvds) and rock, jazz and classical music.

My room is 13 wide x 40 deep.

I was also considering the svs 20-35pci used or a new svs 20-39pc+, and a used HSU vtf-3,
but I can get a PAIR of the ravas for $700.

My speakers are the ported Devore Fidelity Gibbon 8
and the Unico integrated tube/SS hybrid amp by
Unison Research in Italy....i also have a sony 999es cd/sacd/dvd player.

I was also considering a used REL storm III.

You know how it is: when you see lower prices you think lower quality, but the few reviews I have read on the RAVAs
is quite remarkable.

Let me know, rava owners, your thoughts, esp if you've had/compared other high end name brands.

I don't own the Rava but I have heard nothing but good thinks about it. As for quality. They use a real wood veneer, not vinyl, proven driver(the Shiva) and a quality amp. I have heard from others that the sealed design is very good for music while still strong for HT. Does it go as low as a ported sub? No, but the output would be very strong in the 30+hz range. I have heard that they are a quite powerful sub.

If you can get a pair for $700 then you cannot go wrong..you could barely build a pair of subwoofers like the Rava for that much.
