Thinking about getting a Metropolitan (1 Viewer)

I have always liked these cars and I think i may start looking for one.
What do you guys think?
Anyone know about any potential problems i might have if i purchase a project Metro?

Henry,
You do know these had British Austin drivetrains? Engines, trannies, rear axles all imported from Britain.

I could be wrong but I think these were Austin-Healey Sprite or Morris Minor drivetrains in American Motors (or actually Nash) bodies, or maybe the whole car was imported.

Anyway, these should be bog simple to work on and parts shouldn't be too hard to get. When your done you'll have an extremely cool looking little car that is slow and handles poorly but will really turn heads.

Im not familiar with the drive trains, are you saying that there are problems with these parts?

Im sure i could firm up the suspension, and add a bit of power, but thats not why im considering buying one.

Looks like a Austin Mini chassis with an american style body on it, very interesting. Do they share the same drivetrain (engine) with the mini's??

Saw a yellow and white one with great plates that read
LOSLNKR (Lois Lane Car)
Some (maybe all) had pnuenatic drive windshield wipers!
Hardly move at a stop sign, damn near fly off running down the hiway.
