I live in one of the few places where 3D screenings seem to be practically flawless. This film was no exception, and it ran for weeks in this area.
I refuse to buy a flat version. Unconscionable.

As am I. And as previously noted this film is not a history lesson on WW1

AFAIK, this film was never meant to be a history lesson on WWI. That being said, I did find it very informative & educational. It definitely gave you a perspective on what the "average" soldier in the trenches went through & how they were affected by the war.

Absolutely. But very little on the war itself. It’s a character study of men in the trenches as you said.
