Theater Mode same on all RPTV's?

    Does theater mode disable svm etc on pretty much all RPTV's?I notice there is less "halo"effect etc on my JVC 56 in.

    No.

    Some "cinema" or "theater" modes in some monitors automatically disable SVM, and others do not. And some monitors don't allow for disabling SVM at all, even from the service menu.

    If your JVC looks better in its theater mode, and you're noting an absence of the haloing, then perhaps you have disabled its SVM.

    Note, though, many DVDs are plagued with edge-enhancement, and all the tweaking in the world won't get rid of those annoying outlining artifacts.

    didnt know about the DVD's,but the halo and assorted issue's are mainly on whit writing on,like on Fox news on the bottom of the screen,on theater mode the letters lose a blue halo and seem to be, thicker...I guess would be the term.But from what ive read its the symyoms of SMV
