There are now chairs, poster boxes (everything from the interior of a theater) available for sale in Winston-Salem, NC. A couple pics and prices are at www.wfubmc.edu/compumed/theater.html
If you want to see the stuff, we could do it tomorrow (Saturday, Jan 4). I'm going to be at the theater from about 10 to 2 working and could show you the chairs. You can buy them at that time if you want.
The theater is one that closed two years ago at Hanes Mall (west side of Winston-Salem near the merging of Business 40 and Interstate 40). The theater was completely renovated 4 years ago, so the interior is in excellent condition. The theater is on the north side of the mall parking lot (towards Stratford Road across from Belks). Please let me know if you will be there tomorrow, but you can just show up during those times. Other stuff will be available at that time including poster boxes, exit signs, etc. - all in original, authentic theater condition!
Some other goods like the screens, acoustic panels, wall sconces, etc. may take a bit longer to de-install. Bring friends that want to buy stuff, too. Bring a truck or van if you want to take your chairs home then!

Tell me more about the poster boxes. Do they plug into a standard outlet, or are they wired to a light fixture?

I'm going to be in the area in Feb, but I could prepay you for them before then. I imagine shipping would be pretty steep, even just to Atlanta.

I don't know yet how the poster boxes are wired, it is concealed in the walls, but I assume the flourescent lights are 110v.

Poster boxes, exit signs, etc. are all 110vac and easily disconnected from the electrical supply with 3 wire nuts. Interior of box uses flexible conduit.

11 poster boxes left! (Wed, Jan8)

What kind of Soda stations are they. Are they the bag type? How much for the 6 drink or the 2?
    Thanks.
I wish I had a nice basement for those seats. [IMG]

I'm interested in the movie name signs - I sent an e-mail on pricing for all related stuff, including lettering.

Scott, sent ya two emails. Those chairs look nice. And the exit signs sound pretty interesting. Any chance you can take more pictures of them?

    Thanks.

whoa, I would really really like one of those movie poster boxes...ugh, $65 plus shipping...I'll let you know I guess.

Can you update us on when they determine what movie posters there are? I assume most will be taken by workers or something, but maybe we'll get lucky.

    Update on theater demo:
    www.wfubmc.edu/compumed/theater.html
    8 chairs left today
    3 poster boxes left
2 concession light boxes w/ graphics left
    3 velvet ropes
    10 plastic candy bins/dispensers
LOTS of armrests with drinkholder rings, some with Pepsi logo, some without $7 each, 3 for $20, plus shipping
    2 35mm tape splicers
1 complete print of Cabbage Patch Kids
1 complete print of Happily Ever After
    misc.
Shipping is very expensive on the poster boxes because they are oversize.

Is it possible to get a complete set of 5 without the Diet Pepsi logo? Would you make a deal if I needed 5 of them?

Sure, how about 5 non-Pepsi armrests for $30 plus shipping (to where?). The non-Pepsi ones are probably used (at least the ones on the top of the box were used) but I'll find 5 clean ones.

FYI - I looked at your pictures and those don't appear to be 35mm *tape* splicers, but rather 35mm *cement* splicers. (I'd have bought them if they were tape splicers...)
