Is the DVD version of The World At War, which was issued in 2013, that is currently on sale on Amazon 4:3 or 16:9? The box art has a black bar running along the top of the cover which looks different from the 30th anniversary dvd that was issued in 2004.

Which country are you referring to? Link? I'm only aware of two distinct sets of DVDs for this series: the 2004/5 issues in the original aspect ratio and the 2010 restored-but-cropped set, also on Blu-ray.

I don't know that I would need to own this series, excellent though it is. But if I ever feel compelled to buy it, I will buy that fullscreen version. Bravo to Networ for releasing it properly!

Have not seen the box set since i purchased it so in honor of Memorial Day i started watching it. On volume two right now and it's a great series just like i remembered it when i was a kid watching it on my local PBS station in the 1970's.
