Brilliant! An absolute classic! Now, where Dallas on Blu-Ray, Warner? Come on!

Also, the price is very, very reasonable. Especially since it will most probably come down by the time the set releases.

As I mentioned in the other thread on TWW, this is a day one purchase for me. Long overdue, if you ask me.

I have the original, suitcase like, complete series set with tons of flippers AND the extremely hard to get out discs.

The suitcase like case would surely make a terrific storage for the Blu-Ray set too, just like my Flintstones DVD set, that looked like a stone-age TV, houses my Blu-Rays CS nowadays.

I'm not up for purchasing West Wing, but its release on blu ray is certainly encouraging news. Maybe other long 90s series are not impossible - Law & Order, Deep Space Nine, Walker Texas Ranger, Nash Bridges, etc.

It’s a MOD release so it actually might not vary in price much at all, unless Amazon has overstock.

That does mean great things could come though. Assuming this does well, Gilmore Girls, ER and Dallas are no brainers to me - and MOD is a great way to do it.

If you believe the word on the lips of the internet, DS9 will happen (Voyager too).

I wouldn’t mind seeing NYPD Blue on blu, as well as some older shows like The Fugitive. Get Smart already looks amazing on DVD; it’d look even better on Blu-ray.

Hope that's true. I've seen many people say the market isn't big enough to drop the same money on making a DS9 blu ray ste that was spent for Next Generation, but hopefully MOD would make the ROI worth it.

I was focusing on 90s series above, but my dream list for very long drama series on Blu ray would also include:
Naked City
Hawaii Five-O ('68)
CHiPs
Hunter

Amazon lists a release date of Oct. 1 for this set.

And yet, we have no press release!

I suppose it's too much to expect them to include, as a bonus feature, the "When We All Vote" special from October 2020. It was a stage version of the episode "Hartsfield's Landing" that streamed on HBO Max.

Unfortunately I think you’re likely correct. It’s most likely an entirely different set of rights and clearances and wouldn’t automatically be approved for inclusion.

This set arrived yesterday. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet but I'm anxious to. I know this show was on network TV, but it did as much to usher in the era of Peak TV as HBO and the Sopranos.

We were hoping to get a review copy but this is one of those shows that I’ll gladly buy if that doesn’t pan out.

I agree about it being a huge part of peak TV’s legacy, winning the Emmy four years in a row over The Sopranos. What an amazing time in my life that I was going to work on The Sopranos by day and coming home to watch new West Wing at night. My dad was learning to cook at a gourmet level around that time and he’d always have something magnificent to serve on Wednesday nights at 9pm. To this day the West Wing theme music makes me hungry as a result.

From just a cursory inspection of the original DVDs and the new blu-ray set, it appears the extras have all been carried over.
