    Hey there. [IMG]
I REALLY want to see Tim Roth's "THE WAR ZONE", but, apparently, there's a little problem:
    1) The US DVD has an audio commentary and lots of nice stuff on it, but AMAZON says "2.35 LTBX", i.e. no word of anamorphic video!
    2) The UK DVD does NOT have an audio commentary, but definitely IS anamorphic!
Is the info from Amazon accurate? At REEL.COM the reviewer clearly talks about "anamorphic video" - anyone? Bueller?
THANK YOU, and enjoy the weekend,
    Seb

I own the US DVD of this great film. It is presented in 2:35.1 but is NOT anamorphic. [IMG]
    Hope this helps,

It's a good movie but the transfer isn't very good.

If you want the movie, though, I'd pick it up. It's from a small, independent studio, and a re-release doesn't seem that likely.

I agree. The picture sort of looks washed out. The dialogue is kinda hard to understand. At times it just sounds like mumbling (It's a British film), and no subtitles to help [IMG]. The disc has alot of good special features, and it's a great film, so to me it's worth the money.
The disc was put out by New Yorker Films.

It's almost impossible to find it any store, due to it's subject matter. Certainly not for the family on Saturday night.

The UK disc has a fantastic transfer - it captures all the subtlety of the 35mm version.

Argh! The UK disc doesn't have the audio commentary though, right, Ali?
Oh well, I will have to start out with the R2 disc, and if the movie really is as good as everyone says, then I am all over the US disc as well - for the commentary, hehe. [IMG]

I just watched this film and all I can say is "WOW". What a great bit of filmaking by Tim Roth. Pretty good dvd with a excellent commentary by Mr. Roth.

This may be the most depressing film I have ever seen.
