It doesn't appear to be on the Madman web site yet, so I assume it cannot be pre-ordered right now...?

    UPDATE:

I just received an amazingly quick response from Madman to my question about pre-orders. Here is the cut-and-paste answer:

    Hello Rick,
Thank you for contacting Madman Entertainment.
The War of the World's release is not yet available to pre-order on the site, but it will be appearing via the link below within the few weeks to the next month:

    https://www.madman.com.au/actions/catalogue.do?sortKey=2&method=browse&webChannelId=14&comingSoon=1&releaseTypeId=1

Otherwise, you will be able to order it through JB Hi-Fi in the next few weeks to a month.
    Kind Regards
    Tegan

WAR OF THE WORLDS and I MARRIED A MONSTER FROM OUTER SPACE! I can't believe I finally get a BD of these to add to my collection before I kick the bucket. Happy Days :drum:

EDIT: At the current exchange rate, only $26.31 plus shipping!

On ordering from the Via Vision website for War of the Worlds shipping is $20 to the USA. Unless there is some mistake I won't pay that much for shipping and will wait for website Madman to sell it.

Good luck to you all. Personally tho I'm perfectly happy with my 4K /Dolby Vision version on iTunes (which is a free service by the way) that I paid $4.99 for. It looks and sounds spectacular.

I knew the price is less in doing the conversion to US dollars but will wait for Madman to sell it and see who would be cheaper.

The specs are up, & it states, Limited Edition slipcase on the first 1500 copies, so it looks like it's not limited to 1500 copies, just the slipcase release.

I hope this thread doesn't turn into yet another disc vs. streaming debate. :)

Yes, lets stop the "disc vs digital" debate in yet another thread. I'm happy for those that are going to order this disc and that's all that needs to be said in this thread going forward. I'm sure those that receive this disc will tell us about the PQ in the near future.

This is a nice package they are offering.

I don’t see in their site any information on region coding though? I’m not sure if it was confirmed if this is region locked or region free? Maybe I missed the post that says it.

By the way, I looked at the extras for this movie and "Sorry, Wrong Number". There is little doubt in my mind that both titles will come out in the States this year. I see that Alan Rode and Eddie Muller of the Film Noir Foundation did some bonus work on the "Sorry, Wrong Number" release which tells me it's coming here too.

Yep! My jaw dropped when I saw they're offering I Married a Monster from Outer Space! These two are a must buy for me as well... until I dropped them in a cart, added shipping, and did a monetary conversion. They'd be ~$70 shipped. That'll take some soul searching...
