    Well-
Just prior to purchasing the R2 PAL dvd of the first
season from www.amazon.co.uk, I contacted BBCAmerica
and asked if/when we might see The Vicar of Dibley on DVD in the US?
Well, here is the e-mail I got back:
    Mark,
"The Vicar of Dibley" is currently being planned for release on DVD in
the US and Canada. Please sign up for our monthly newsletter to be

So, this is good news, and generally they say, "Sorry,
no plans as of yet," when I ask about things like this.
    So, fans of Absolutely Fabulous,
    French & Saunders
    or
Dawn French can rejoice that this little
delight will be making its way accross the pond.

Lew, you made me laugh sooo hard!
As an aside: I hope they do this set slightly better
than the UK version, only because it is obvious that
there is an episode, The Easter Bunny that should have been put
on the UK's region 2 PAL DVD of "series one." between
the "normal" episodes and the Christmas one, since,
chronologically, that is where it goes.
Maybe DVD bits were the issue, and they figured
if they were going to pop on an episode, put on
the Christmas one, which is hillarious.
Also, I noted on amazon.co.uk that they are doing a
"Best of" dvd set due in late November
(again, region 2, PAL, for you region-free player folks)
and I cannot think why anyone would be doing
    a "best of" set,
when it seems the tides have finally turned towards doing
    season/series in their entirety.
(And The Vicar of Dibley isn't even a
Warner Bros title in the UK.) [IMG]
    Cheers,
    Mark

    Well-
It is a great time to ressurect this thread.
On October 7, 2003, Warner Bros. is releasing both as a "Divine Collection" Boxed Set and as a each series (season) sold seperately set of The Vicar of Dibley.
(The Seasonal shows are part of the series 2 DVD.)
While the MSRP is a bit high at $59.98 for the boxed set (the only way to go IMHO), DVD price search already has it listed as available in the $40.00 range.
I am sooo happy I can toss another S-VHS!
