Maybe this was covered in an earlier thread, if so, sorry for repeating the question.

Which is: is the cureent DVD release of The Verdict a slightly different cut than what was shown in theaters? I distinctly remember a short scene between Paul Newman & the brother-in-law of the plaintiff AFTER the verdict has been announced. Anyone else notice this?

I played the film theatrically for 4 weeks back in 82-83 and that scene was not in the film. I never saw that scene on any LaserDisc or cable showings, either. Perhaps it's in the book or script?
The last shot of the brother-in-law is him hugging his wife.

Maybe it was the book, but I remember
the brother-in-law shaking Newman's hand & saying "5 million dollars!!"

There was a technical error in the laserdisc release, which inadvertently deleted Mr. Newman's trip to NY, and the loss of the storyline which was encompassed by that footage.

AFAIK, the dvd release is complete.
