The digital bits mentions that the Thin Blue Line is coming out on DVD. Is this the Errol Morris documentary? If so, this is great news. It is my favorite documentary.

There is a British comedy with the same name, starring Rowan Atkinson, and I believe that's the one that's coming out on DVD.

I was hoping for the documentary.
Saw it years ago and remember it being very good....
Was just reintroduced to Errol Morris with the excellent Fog of War.

I had a feeling it was the Rowan Atkinson thing. Sigh...

Damn...thread got my hopes up. I would love to get ahold of Errol Morris's The Thin Blue Line.

I'm right there with you. I've always been a big fan of that movie.

I was disappointed, too. Most of Morris' films are not available on disc yet. Let's hope that with Fog of War, which will surely come to DVD, more will be released.

I agree one thousand percent. I can't wait trade in my old worn-out VHS of The Thin Blue Line for a DVD. It's one of the greatest documentaries of all time, IMHO.

If this is the Rowan Atkinson series, then it figures, because I only just bought it from R2...

I believe yes, he mentioned in a recent interview that MGM is prepping three of his films including the Thin Blue Line and Gates of Heaven for DVD this year.

Absolutely! How many times has a movie actually saved an innocent man's life? This is the only one that I know of...

It is the Rowan Atkinson comedy. I have been waiting and waiting for this. It is being released June 15th as a three disc set with all the episodes.

Although I still want Errol Morris' documentary too.

The Fog of War is coming 5/11 according to DVDTimes . Don't know that this means TBL will make it. Is TBL a Miramax property?

Following his Oscar win, I would be surprised if some of Morris' earlier films didn't begin showing up on DVD.

I certainly hope so! Especially Thin Blue Line and A Brief History of Time, two of the greatest docs ever made. I haven't seen Fog of War yet, though...

I just hope on one of his DVDs (Fog of War maybe) they put his short flm from the Oscars a couple of years ago.

While I can't wait for "Gates of Heaven," I'm almost as eager to see "Vernon, Florida," a wonderful film about that town that I saw, only once, about 15 years ago. It's fallen off the face of the earth to such a degree that I almost think I dreamt it.

Does anyone know for certain which studio currently owns the home video rights to Errol Morris's The Thin Blue Line?
