The best film I saw in the cinema last year - out of 107 films - was this one. Can't believe Americans are so uninterested in food and romance, that no label has yet bothered to release it Stateside. I would have thought that Criterion, at the very least, would have put it out on their Janus Contemporaries label. But no - they only currently seem to be focusing on releasing stuff, which already has two of three previous high definition releases out....

For those who actually are interested, I'll link to Joe Stemme's heads-up.

The blu-ray is available for a few dollars on Amazon UK.

And right now I'm preparing Pot-au-Feu, for this weekend. Have invited a bunch of friends round to see the movie and will feed them the dish, which forms an integral part of the story, after the film!

I love this film. I have the Region B blu-ray and have seen it three times now. It's a simple film about the joy of cooking, relationships and loss. It's a little over 2 hours but it flies by.

I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Juliette Binoche's work.
