Been saving gift cards for this! Today at B&N I pick up The Red Shoes on UHD and Tales of Hoffman blu.

Just read this article https://www.criterion.com/current/posts/4091-a-visit-to-the-nitrate-picture-show and wish I lived in a place where I can experience these masterworks on a large screen with an appreciative audience. But, alas, cinema is such a lonely pursuit in my life...

We live about 2 hours away and attended the first year and watched every movie. I guess the point was to show well known movies -- all of which we had seen before, in startlingly beautiful nitrate prints. I was really looking forward to this, having heard about the beauty of nitrate for years. Please don't tell anyone but -- WE COULDN'T SEE ANY DIFFERENCE! We both independently came to this conclusion. Either our over 55 eyes could not detect it, or the "emperor has no cloths".

Since as I said before, the movies are usually just well known ones we have seen before, we will not be attending again.

There's no credit for her, but it sure sounds like Joan Collins doing the narration on "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" short.
