Don't know about Dish but the chart is incorrect for DirecTV. As of a few weeks ago Showtime (east) has Dolby Digital.

SOME of the HBO/other premium services are in DD, SOME of the time. I have HBO and notice that some movies are in DD, but others are not. I guess it depends on the movie itself. The PPV stuff is DD. Just make sure your dish receiver has a digital out. Neither of the two I have do, so I'm stuck w/ DPL.

Dolby Digital isn't always 5.1. Older movies on HBO/Showtime/Starz will have Dolby Digital 2.0. For the most part, HBO has been doing 5.1 for all new movies since they started offering Dolby Digital about a year ago. I believe "Battlefield Earth" and "The Perfect Storm" were the first. Anything since then should be 5.1, anything older will be 2.0.
