Are any of you playing TSO? I'm downloading the demo now and was just curious if anyone from this board is playing. I've never even played a SIMS game before, but all the positive talk about the demo has made me curious.

I'm assuming upon release of the full game. The cool part: People participating in the playtest *won't* lose their characters when it goes to production...

I was going to give it a go, but you need a CC to get going, even with the beta. [IMG]

Not sure what the release date is, I think sometime in the 1st or 2nd quarter 2003. I have been playing a little bit more and I have to say im not that impressed. Im a big fan of the original games but The Sims Online seems to be just a really cool chat room.Theres not much else for your sim to do except what your used to in the game. You spend most of your time making pizzas with a group for money and then running your sim to the fridge or the bathroom. The most part is people just chatting back and forth. A few cool new emotes are nice but I cant see the long term stay with the sims online.

Why do you need to provide a CC#?

Apparently, EA has given FilePlanet permission to make this a public download (which took hours. The fastest download speed I could get was 35k per second. Even on a cable line!) Well, was it was done, I installed, but it asked for a CD registration code. Where the hell do I get that from if I don't have the CD?
Why has EA given permission if it still requires the CD? Also, what kind of system requirements are needed to play? Minimum and maximum.

The installer should have popped an Internet Browser window that goes to FilePlanet and displays a CD key assigned to your userid...

Most likely because this is beta software (not a demo), and they didn't disable/remove the code to collect that data.
