It was decent. I'm guessing material was taken from Catch Me If You Can, which I haven't seen yet.
One thing that bugged me about this episode was that the writers seemed to have forgotten all about Maggie! Was she even in this episode after the couch gag?
There was even a line about how Homer and Marge wouldn't be alone until after Lisa was in college and they lost contact with Bart. (But Maggie would still be around.)
Other than that it was pretty good.
I thought the Catch Me If You Can segment was great!
The Moe cameo in the CMIYC segment was also terrific!
My favorite line. On a sign by their Atlantic City Hotel.
Welcome to New Jersey! Where New York comes to smoke!
It's a running gag. Homer forgets about Maggie all the time.
Dayton, Ohio--Two Exits of Fun!
It was okay, but I thought last week's episode was much better.
I did like the gag where the tornado destroys the Dayton hotel, Lisa or Bart comments that their parents could be in the basement, then the tornado comes back and "deliberately" slams into the foundation.
Did anyone else find where Marge said "I feel like Princess Di and Princess Grace smashed together" to be a bit risque, considering how they both died?
That was certainly the intention.
Homer on the toilet was pretty disturbing.
Also the joke about running over a costume character was a bit off-color as well. Although I'm sure this episode was written well before, a few months ago a costume character at Disney was run over, and killed, by a parade float.
They had enough time to trim the gag since it wasn't essential.
They've used the word "gloryhole", so I figure pretty much anything goes these days on the Simpsons.
"Sun and water without your son and daughter."
Oh Homey. You know I'm always up for a triple X throwdown.
Yep. This season finds Marge and Homer openly abandoning their kids. They never used to be so blatent about their bad parenting.
I find this a sour turn for the series.
Well, kids don't usually chase their parents around the country.
Well, after Bart and Lisa rolled off the school bus into the house, she flew into the cat litter box!
It was such a silly episode, but I loved it. Note the Lackluster Video shelf stocked with "unfunny Woody Allen movies." And the Love Story gags were hilarious.
I thought it was a rather poor episode. The Homer gagging Bart through the thin wall was goog, and devoting an episode to finding a place and time to screw was inspired; I'm sure my own parents suffered a similiar delemma, though I'd rather not thing about it.
But the execution was sloppy. It would have worked much better if they'd carried things out within Springfield.
Well there was a similar episode with that theme entitled "Natural Born Kissers" in the 9th season where Homer and Marge find that dangerous (risk of being caught) sexual encounters was the key to putting some excitement back into their marital life. Of course, this backfires for hilarious results! It takes place in and around Springfield. The difference being that Bart and Lisa have their own separate "B" story.
I thought it was one of the better episodes I've seen in a looooong time.
