"The Shield" was released in the US in January but when is the planned R2 release. "NYPD Blue" got released last week and it was released in the states in march. Whats the hold up with "The Shield"?

Just heard "The Shield" is being released on 21st July by columbia Tristar.

anyone know if the R2 version will be 16:9 (as filmed??, as as on some of the screener DVD's that were about??)

It would appear that the R2 version is being released as 16:9 though I have heard that the creator's intended AR is 1.33:1

It has been confirmed that this release is anamorphic widescreen, and if the creator's intent was 1.33:1 this is really annoying.

At least there's the R1 set to fall back on
