    David,
The Corrs could do the pre-show for Shania. [IMG]

Definitely the hottest half-time entertainer in a long while.

A nice one to watch with my finger on the mute button.

She's probably the only person to perform a half-time show at both the Grey Cup and the Super Bowl... and within a 2 month span to boot.

I wonder if she'll be lip synching like she was at the Grey Cup show?

Anyone catch yesterday's jets/raiders half-time show? The Wallflowers did a nice job with a live performance. Seemed like they weren't qued up when they were introduced but quickly recovered and got going.

CBS passed stereo which sounded good while the HD was incredible. The Gibson guitars looked great.

Any performances scheduled for next weekend's conference finals?

Bring on a non lip-sync Shania performance!

Lip-synching is standard practice, including the national anthem (at least that's what I read, but I don't remember the source, sorry). Whitney Houston supposedly lip-synched her memorable rendition of the anthem as well.

Did you see her performance? I'm no expert but there was no synching going on that night.

Lip sync is an absolute necessity. A live halftime performance from the center of an arena is a nightmare for any live performer, because the sound will bounce right off the crowd and right back at the stage, and throw the performers off.
Best real half-time show I can remember was The Guess Who (I can't remember the event). I think they had onstage (platform?) monitor mixes instead of in-ear.
I don't think Rosanne Barr lip sync'd hers but her "choreography" was original...[IMG]

Did you see her on "The Tonight Show" yesterday? Man, her singing was horrible! I've heard her sing live on TV before, and it didn't sound this bad at all. I was embarrassed.

But if the anthem is already recorded, why bother having the artist come out and mouth the words? They should just play it.
