    Just watched this again after nearly 20 years and still really like it. Seems to be pretty forgotten compared to the earlier version.
    Very strange role for Bill Murray but I think it's one of his best roles (but then again I liked him in where the buffalo roams)
    I have to admit that I have never seen the earlier picture.... not sure if I want to

    No,not afraid. Just dont care to see the other one.
    Maybe someday.
    Always up for watching a Thin Man Movie though!

    I didn't much care for it in 1984, and seeing it again, I still don't. Bill Murray was absolutely wrong for the part, since he couldn't resist the smarm and insincerity; it makes Larry's quest for knowledge of himself seem insincere itself. Somerset Maugham would have screamed bloody murder at this.
