I've looked around on the web and through various threads on the forum and haven't found an answer to my question:
What is the original aspect ratio (OAR) for The Private Eyes?
The DVD release from Hens Tooth is 1.33, which I seriously doubt is the correct ratio. I would assume it was probably 1.85, but don't know.
Is there a good chance that the DVD is open matte?
    Thanks,
    Matt

I think it is open matte. There seems to be a lot of extra headroom, which is usually a dead giveaway. Unfortunately, if you really want a copy of this movie, this is the only way you're going to get it. I'd bet my left cajone that we won't be seeing THE PRIVATE EYES: DIRECTOR'S ULTIMATE EDITION anytime soon.

I'm of the opinion that you can never have enough Don Knotts in your life.

    Not many, I'm afraid.

    THE INCREDIBLE MR. LIMPET
    GUS
    THE APPLE DUMPLING GANG
    PRIVATE EYES

Those are the only ones I can find where he's a key player.

Where are THE GHOST AND MR. CHICKEN, HOW TO FRAME A FIGG, THE RELUCTANT ASTRONAUT, and THE SHAKIEST GUN IN THE WEST?

I'd buy MR. CHICKEN in a heartbeat. Great stuff.
