The move has humor, they are not calling it a comedy.
Exactly. Besides acting in the original Predator, the guy directed Iron Man 3 and Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until I see the film.
The trailer is confusing to me. Are they saying one the guys in this thing is part Predator and part Human? It looks like one of them is putting on Predator armour and going up against another Predator.
This looks like X-Men Origins Wolverine 2, with Predators instead of Wolverine.
Shane Black only does comedies these days, with some action added in.
There is a kid at the center of the story. It looks like a Marvelised version of the franchise.
Agreed. When they released the first photo of the main cast last year and it included a kid, that's when I really became skeptical about this project.
Also the core of the first two Predator films is that you have a stellar cast as the team / units. Just look at the casting sheets on both films. All fantastic actors, which were known prior by the audience, all badass in their own way.
Now look at the casting of Predators, or here...
In Predators you’ve got Adrian Broday, Laurence Fishburn, and Danny Trejo. Predators ain’t great, but it’s a decent movie. I’ll reserve judgement on the new movie.
Did you hear Brodenay didn't want to hold a real gun because it was too hot, so he had a plastic gun for the whole film. Also he didn't bother to get guns lessons, so he holds it like a dork the whole film. I would have fired the guy.
Brodenay? Is that because I misspelled his name or because you think little of him? No, I did not hear of the plastic gun.

The film conducted some large-scale reshoots back in March which redid much of the film’s third act.

That trailer was confusing.
I'm not the least bit confused by my lack of interest in it.
I read the script. It's as bland as it looks. That franchise is in much worse shape than Terminator.
Some new images, and the film has officially received an R rating:
...for "strong bloody violence, language throughout, and crude sexual references."
Those are the best kind of sexual references.
