Well, I think it's about time to take the hi-def plunge. I've been admiring the Samsung 50" DLP monitor and I've seen 2 models listed. One is a HLN-5065W and the other is a HLN 507W. The difference I see in the specs on Samsungs web site is that the 507 has a Faroudja chip, and the 5065 has a Film Mode(?) chip.
So, which is better, and/or should I care?
Sears usually matches web prices, and they carry the 5065.I'd go for that, since I don't have to worry about shipping, and the other problems related to buying off the web, but if the 507 is a much better monitor...............?

I'm not familiar with the FilmMode chip, but if you do a quick search of the forum you will find that the faroudja chip is probably the most respected chip around. If you can watch both and not tell a difference, then it doesn't matter, but if it were me I'd probably shoot for the 507.
