Anyone have any experience with the AE Aegis Evolution One
speaker? How does that compare with the Dahlquist Qx6?
I have heard the Evo one and liked it quite a bit, but
of course the confusion persists. If it is so hard to
choose a sub $400 speaker, i can only imagine what its like
to choose a sub $20k speaker or a sub $750k house. we should
all have the choice of one speaker and be done with it and
be able to complain how much it sucks...but have to live with it! All this time spent agonizing over a speaker .... sheesh...could have actually been listening to music during that time!

I heard it recently with a friend shopping for a stereo system. sounded excellent to me. having said that, it was paired with a S$5,000 CD player, but with a Rotel RA02 integrated amp. we tried the same electronics with Mission's m74. absolutely no contest, the AEs were miles better.

There is a review of this speaker also at Stereophile. Amazingly flat freq response for the $$ (check out Fig 6). Good low freq extension too. I got a pair of 300c's based on the review of the Aegis Evo 1. AE makes excellent speakers.
