I have read the reviews for the Pioneer DV-444 player and they all seem to be really good. Right now I have a Pioneer DV-05 hooked up to a Toshiba TW40X80 HDTV Ready TV.

It looks great with component. But I want to get a progressive scan DVD player to see if I can notice a difference in pictuer quality. I was thinking about trying out the DV-444 to see how it compares and I was wondering what people's experience has been with it? Any real experiences or research any one has done with this player who would like to share would be great!!

Sorry to say but everyone says it's the worst progressive scan player of the bunch since it doesn't do 3/2 pulldown. However, for an interlaced player I'd recommend it. I got my dad a DV-440 for xmas and IMO it's the best of the sub $250 (US) players.
