Sad Link Removed out of New York today. Kathleen Freeman has died at age 82. A veteran stage and screen actress, with over a hundred films to her credit, Freeman recently was nominated for a Tony Award in the Broadway musical The Full Monty and supplied voiceover work in the film Shrek.
To me, I'll always remember her as the edgy Sister Mary Stigmata a.k.a. "The Penguin" in The Blues Brothers...one of my favorite characters in one of my favorite movies. Thanks for the fond performances!

And here I thought this thread was going to tell me former L.A. Dodger thirdbaseman Ron Cey had died.
Ms. Freeman will always be Sister Mary Stigmata to me too.

Sorry to hear of her death. Her scenes with Jake were some of the funniest in the "Blues Brothers" movie.
