I've got a strange question that's been bugging me.

Last Friday, I took advantage of a Target sale and picked up a two-pack of S1 and S2 of Green Acres, and noticed a packaging difference. While S1 was in a foldout with a slipcover, S2 was in a keepcase with a cardboard O-ring. Neither had references to Fox on the packaging.

Now sometime this year, MGM/Fox reissued Green Acres S1 in keepcase/O-ring packaging, with a 2008 date on the back and the Fox logo. This has shown up at local Sam's Clubs here for under $14.

My question is, just what was the original packaging for the three available season sets? Did S2 and S3 ever have the cardboard foldout packaging, or were they always in keepcases? And have S2 and S3 been reissued by Fox yet?

I bought them when they originally came out and remember that they changed packaging from foldout to keepcase. I just can't remember if it was between season one & two or season two & three. Based on what you have seen, I would bet season one was the only foldout.

I sure wish the rest of the seasons would come out no matter what packaging they use.

I got the Target deal with both volumes together in a red box (thicker than it needed to be, turned out to be padded by some pieces of cardboard inside.) Both volumes were in thin Amaray cases with the flappy thing, and both had cardboard slipcovers. Volume 1 had no inserts inside, annoying since the only list of episodes is on the back cover and it doesn't say how they're split up amongst the discs. Can't complain too much for $16.99 though! (Now when the hell am I ever going to have time to WATCH these???)

Target had the twin-pack in two configurations: the red box, and the two sets just shrinkwrapped. Since I saw the Fox logo on the red box, I suspected that's what I would find inside. Was your S2 the old MGM version, and did it have a booklet?
