I love the nostalgia factor, music, cinematography and seeing those vintage actors, but the quality drop-off is pretty steep. For half as many episodes I won't pay more than $30 -- unless the extras are exceptional.

figure the Kino thread will have all that information in a day or so, i personally like the green, but then most oscilloscopes have that color to begin with

I was just being facetious that they didn't at least come up with a different design for the cover of the second season. Was hoping for something a bit more creative.

The next question that comes to mind:
what are the episodes that get an audio commentary?
I believe that "Demon with a Glass Hand" will get a first-rate treatment …

Amongst the extras that interest me in the first place, find:

a dream come true
• THE UNKNOWN – the alternate cut of “The Forms of Things Unknown” intended a pilot for a show that was never broadcasted
• PLEASE STAND BY – the alternate cut of “The Galaxy Being” was the pilot episode shown to ABC executives which later on became
THE OUTER LIMITS – with an optional commentary track by Film Historian Eric Grayson

the fascinating sixties documents
• ABC NEW YEAR’S PROMO (0:43)
• WHAT’S NEW ON ABC? – 1963 Promo with Edie Adams (6:32)
• 5 TV SPOTS (4:30)

Edie Adams introducing Outer Limits and, presumably, the rest of the fall 1963 ABC newcomers might be an interesting, if by necessity, fast paced 6:32...After all, ABC had a lot of newcomers that fall... The Fugitive, Travels of Jamie McPheeters, 100 Grand, Arrest and Trial, Greatest Show on Earth, Patty Duke Show, Channing, Jimmy Dean Show, Burke's Law, Farmer's Daughter, Hootenanny and The Jerry Lewis Show.

Edie Adams could sell me on anything. I'm a non smoker and her Muriel Cigars commercials on the excellent DVD boxset Here's Edie! almost convinced me to pick up the habit...sexy, sexy and very talented...of course, her 30 minute variety show also was returning on ABC that fall, alternating with Sid Caesar.

Much love for Kino Lorber in giving us this wealth of great bonus features and commentaries!

This KL edition is historical. This is the extras I have waited for since the 1990's.
Three decades of waiting: I feel like Trent in "Demon with a Glass Hand".
At last, at long last …

Control Voice: [Closing Narration]
"Like the eternal man of Babylonian legend, like Gilgamesh, one thousand plus two hundred years stretches before Trent. Without love, without friendship, alone, neither man nor machine, waiting, waiting for the day he will be called to free the humans who gave him mobility, movement, but not life."
