The Others OAR (1 Viewer)

I can't remember if the aspect ratio of The Others is 1.85:1 or 2.35:1. I think it is the former. According to the IMDb it is 2.35:1 (Super 35) I would like to clear this up before it leaves theatres and then everyone is relying on months old memories! Thanks!

If you guys ever need to know the theatrical aspect ratio for a film released this year that I've seen, just check for my entry in the 2001 Film List thread and the AR is noted next to the title. I've checked every last one on the list and they are all correct.
If you're not sure of the AR on just by looking at the screen, watching the reel changeover markers is a good help. Oval markers indicate 2.40:1, round markers indicate 1.85:1.
Tino, what made you think that The Others was 2.40:1?

The theater I saw The Others in had it at 1.85:1.

I dunno. I thought I remember saying to myself 'Wow, it's 2.35".
FWIW, the theater I saw it in had a relatively small screen so that may have been the cause.
I stand corrected.

My question wasn't meant to belittle your observations, I asked because some smaller screens at the Capitol 6 are higher up on the wall, and 1.85:1 films really give the impression that they are in scope. I thought that you had a similar experience.
Some 1.85:1 screens just look wider than other 1.85:1 screens.
