    I'll be ordering tomorrow...

I am confused over the extreme lack of early information on the release, though. Just dropping this onto their site doesn't sound like the best way to get sales.

I want a soundtrack release of just the explosions. That could easily be 2 discs.

I finished giving the set a listen and I'm onto the second listen now. As always, I appreciate getting more Star Trek music. This will proudly sit next to my complete TOS collection.

    A few observations:
    • The TOS Captain's fight music presented here is my all-time favorite. I actually prefer it to what played in "Amok Time." I have fond memories of being a little kid "beating myself up" outside under the tree in full view of the neighbors while humming that theme. Oh, what they must have thought of the Perregaux's goofy kid gleefully hurling himself onto the ground over and over.
    • The TAS music is a treasure. What I found hilariously ironic was the inclusion of the alternate versions, which actually recreated the repetitive effect that the episodes had. I was like, "Oh this again," followed by "Hah, just like the cartoon!"
    • The TNG music is just as bland and uninteresting as I remembered it. There are no real "themes" or leitmotifs most of the time, just someone hitting the same note a number of times followed by one minor chord change at the end. Ah, well.
    • "Picard and Nella" yes! Hearing this again makes me want to exclude her from all future Away Missions because fire.
    • Ron Jones' "inspired by" section was intriguing. Though, like the extra tracks found on the Blade Runner soundtrack composed by Vangelis, begs the listener what it has to do with... anything at all, really.
    • Television bumpers! Awesome!

The saga continues. Got my package this morning. My invoice says 50th Anniversary and Enterprise V2. I got 50th Anniversary and Jurassic Park 4 disc.

I was 100% going to get JP next year, so no big deal. Same price point, too, so no issue. This is just amusing me. I did send LaLaLand an email about this so they knew the issue if inventory came up with different numbers. I told them many times no problem.

Okay, now to get home and work on importing all eight discs of material. Hope the iPod has enough room left...

    Agreed. Kind of surprising!

I haven't picked up the expandeds for into darkness or 2009.
Into darkness is still in print but 2009 is oop.
I'd like to pick these up though.

Yeah, 2009 is the only one I don't have on the shelf. I'll find it one of these days on Second Spin or Half...

I'm finally finding time this week to indulge in all the new Star Trek releases, Roddenberry Vault and the La La Land 50th Anniversary Collection soundtrack. It will take a while to note all the tracks to replace in the original Soundtrack set with the new tracks in this set. Seems pretty straight forward. Pretty cool to hear the Love Scene track!

I'm having my very first listen right now of the TAS tracks and wow, this is pretty cool! I was noting the fidelity isn't as high as I imagined, but it sounds pretty great and on par with watching an episode of TAS, so maybe that's just the way it sound and it doesn't get any better. I think it's a midrange issue maybe. But overall, it sounds great. I was hoping the main titles might be better, but I'm not complaining! It's neat to finally hear this outside of the episodes themselves. And I'm flashing back to my youth. (I'm devolving to my younger self when it was common to say neat. ;) )

Thanks for the hard work Neil!

It's too bad there is a sadness this week overshadowing all this Star Trek goodness with the news of Carrie Fisher.

    So, random question:

Is there any word re: the next Trek release from LaLaLand? I want to order the Enterprise V2 set from last year, and a few other things, soon and save a few bucks on shipping. The last I remember hearing was January for Voyager...

Thanks Neil! I saw that on Facebook and also from you guys here. :)

I'll be getting both of these releases in February. Most likely I'll wait until March 3 (first paycheck in the new month) and throw in some other releases into the order. I'm playing catch up with a lot of the DC stuff (Young Justice just went OOP).

Going through the track listing, I was very worried Scorpion was being left off the set. Finally, when I got to Disc 4, I let out a sigh, very thankful it was included.

Someone, somewhere (and I forget who and where) asked if there was this much memorable Voyager music. During my current VOY rewatch, I am paying more attention to music than I have in the past. I am disheartened, then, that none of the S4 Hirogen arc music is being included in this set (Hunters and Prey, specifically). All that being said...bring on Volume Two. :)

That being said, I'm looking forward to the 28th. There's no way I get the set before flying off to Hawaii on the 2nd, but it'll be a nice welcome home present for me.
