Rumors are floating around that Fox will be following in the footsteps of Warner and Sony and starting their own MOD DVD program next year. While this isn't what we as classic film fans would view as ideal, it's a reality we all have to accept. Thus, if this is how it is to be, I figured it would helpful to the people at Fox to at least know what we want. I have compiled all the suggestions from the 75th anniversary thread and the Fox releases in Spain thread as well as added some of my own suggestions into this master thread.

Feel free to add more suggestions if you see something missing.

Titles marked in Purple have been released as part of the Fox Cinema Archives collection.

I was wondering when someone was going to start this thread. Good idea! About the only one I saw listed that I, personally, must own at any cost is the 1977, Robert Culp/Gig Young TV Movie, SPECTRE! Need it, want it, gotta have it! And, I'm almost sure it will make the FOX MOD program. I mean, how can it not? The Gregory Hines/Willem Dafoe Vietnam action thriller, OFF LIMITS is another I wouldn't mine owning. I was wondering does FOX own EXTREME PREJUDICE and SOUTHERN COMFORT, or is that another studio?

I would absolutely go broke if/when such a program is initiated if many of these titles are part of the initial lineup. Wow!

ANYTHING NOMINATED FOR THE BEST PICTURE OSCAR. Since I collect them, I need all the ones missing from DVD. I don't care if they are on pressed DVDs or not; just to have a STUDIO AUTHORIZED DVD would make my day!

Here's some I can think of off the top of my head. I realise some of these are available from Spain, but I would feel safer ordering direct from a Fox MOD program. Of course all the CinemaScope films would need to be properly letterboxed for me to buy them, and I would only buy them if they were non-anamorphic encoded if they were $5 each.

Thank you to Matthew for compiling this list. I hope those at Fox pay attention to it and make the most popular titles available as early as possible.

Wilson
Teenage Rebel
Violent Saturday
On the Threshold of Space
The Way to the Gold
Seven Cities of Gold
The Prince of Players
Goodbye Charlie
Crack in the Mirror
The Big Gamble
The Roots of Heaven
Blue Denim
King of the Khyber Rifles
Untamed
Beneath the 12-Mile Reef
The Racers
23 Paces to Baker Street
A Hatful of Rain
White Witch Doctor
Forever Amber
The Nickel Ride
The Egyptian
Night People
The Magnificent Matador
Ride a Violent Mile
Beloved Infidel
No Down Payment
Desiree

Cry of the City - again, according to the Czar of Noir has been licensed to Criterion.

The Brasher Doubloon is, as far as I know, in rights limbo. Once planned for the Noir series - an audio commentary has been recorded, too - but it was pulled from release.

Add THE MUDLARK (1950)--Jean Negulesco: Great performances by Irene Dunne as Queen Victoria and Alec Guinness as Disraeli. FMC is showing this on 10/11.

Was Sunny Side Up on that list? (I missed it if it was.)

This was a huge hit at the TCM festival last April and I sure would love to have it on DVD, though what I'd really like is to see it on a big screen again.

Not sure I'd classify SOUNDER as a "blaxploitation 70's grindhouse film," but it is already out on DVD.

The Sweet Ride: a very young Jacqueline Bisset + a really good performance from Tony Franciosa (as always) + an early screenplay from Tom Mankiewicz who died recently.
