Don't close the thread yet!! I just got caught up!!

Since I don't have my dish here I've had to seek other means to get my 'Curb'.

Anyway, just saw the season finale. Very good indeed. Pretty well every episode has been a gem. A few in the middle of the season were not quite as funny but all in all a very solid season.

I just hope that the word gets around and that HBO will continue to make this show. This show deserves an audience. Quite frankly it is the best comedy around. Period.

I'll continue to frequent this thread. Maybe if HBO reruns the first season we can get together and chat some more.

Yes, let's! :)
HBO reruns the first season, starting July 8th!
I haven't seen the first season, only Season 2, "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (the hour-long special which HBO is currently airing all the time, check it out if you haven't!) and the first episode of season 1, so it'll be like a brand new season to me. :)
Also, CYE has been picked up for a 3rd season, it will air later this year. Yay! Also, after 3 seasons I'm sure that there'll be a DVD set out. There is no other show currently on TV that I would want more on DVD.

Sweet! I have only seen about 5 episodes and that is of season 2 so I can't wait to see the first season. The hour long pilot is a funny one.

Make sure you don't miss the reruns of season one!
Starts tonight at 9 PM on HBO (two episodes back to back), schedule can be found here: http://www.hbo.com/larrydavid/
I've seen "The pants tent" (the 1st episode), it is of course a hilarious one. :)

I didn't have HBO until the end of this past May, and the day I ordered it they showed the episode where he pitches the idea to HBO and I was hooked. Haven't seen an episode listed since :frowning: I'll be watching these - had TiVo do a season pass.

Lucky me! Tonight was the first time I had ever seen that first episode when Larry went to the movies with Cheryl's freind. It was like the start of a whole new season for me!
The second ep is actually the very first ep I saw when I started watching the show. That whole bit with the shoe salesman on the street kills me!
"I'm not a shoe whore!"

And the way the shoe salesman ends it, with the "pfffttt" was classy. :)
"The pants tent" is great, I love how he gets instantly mad at the girl in the aisle, and the final shot of him sitting in the restaurant looking like it's the last place in the world he wants to be. :)
The ending of "Ted and Mary" was great too, with him sitting alone in the big private booth with Mary's mom. His plans always backfire.
That was probably the sneakiest I've seen him, actually outright lying to Ted Danson about him not knowing that Mary had a sweater just like it...

OK, I'm keeping this thread going by myself here, but nevermind. :)
Did you guys catch last night's episodes? "Porno Gil" was very good, especially the driving scenes ("was that a barn? There was a cow there. Cows don't live in barns! Do they?"), but the episode that followed it, "The Bracelet" was AWESOME!! I haven't laughed that much since... since last week's "The pants tent". :) It was just great.
One of my favorite little moments was when Larry was air-punching the blind guy in the face while they were helping him move the furniture, and when he was trying to explain why he had given the waiter 30% tip and "The captain" got nothing...
Oh, and when he said to Cheryl that he let Richard buy the bracelet since they had already made up... hahahaha.... he's so smooth! :)

I taped both episodes last night but only got to watch part of the first one so far. The pornstar's line about his wife calling their digs "the house that cum built" killed me.

Don't worry Micke, i'm with ya too. :)
I actually taped last nights ep's but havn't watched them yet, i'll watch them both tonight. I have seen those before and remember both being drop dead funny, especially the "air punching" of the blind guy! Only Larry David would do something like that!
Anyone know when the new season is set to start? Are they showing the reruns of both seasons counting down to the start of the third season like they did with The Sopranos?

I watched a couple I had made into a VCD a few weeks ago at a friend's house. Saw "Shaq" and "The Doll".

Absolutely brilliant. I can't say enough good things about this show. I can't wait till the new season begins. It will probably be in August since HBO is rerunning the first 2 seasons again.

Porno Gil was classic. That driving scene was hillarious, and I was just laughing b/c Cheryl was a "7" going into the car but you could tell she was a "10" once Larry started to ramble.

Also, the braclet was a classic too especially when the blind guy started to yell at Larry b/c he wouldn't put the TV in the fireplace. I agree that Larry air punching the guy was freaking funny.

I've only seen a couple of these in the past but I've always loved the show. I wish HBO would advertise the fact that they show is on. Luckily I flipped by just as it was starting last night. Porno gill was great! I now have my Replay TV set to record the show whenever it is on so I won't be missing out on any episodes. Any idea when the new ones start?

"Curb your enthusiasm" got an Emmy nomination for "Outstanding comedy series". Since the other nominees are Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends, Sex and the City and Will & Grace, I can't see why CYE shouldn't win... :)

Oh my god this show is so funny. Tonight's first episode The Interior Designer (edit: scratch that, both episodes). Between this and Seinfeld, it's unbelievable Larry David can be so funny consistently. Granted it's the same type of humor, but you'll hear no complaints from me.

I agree, this show is so freaking funny!

Larry David has legitimate gripes with 80% of the encounters/problems he has to deal with. $1,500 for that Lawyer to read his script and he didn't even ask her?! I would of fired her right on the spot also, same with the decorator. when LD and the Decorator started fighting and then she started to kiss him was unreal and I could barely control myself. Plus he broke another lamp like in the Porno Gil episode.

The Wire

F him, F him was pretty much what I was thinking when Larry was talking to his wife about their neighbor. Jeff's wife and her rant at him was pretty funny also. Larry and Jeff's conversation about "maniacs" was classic.

The whole show was worth just hearing Julia-Louis say to the camera "I have no F-N clue."

I just can't get enough of this show and the great thing about it is, that it is a new Seinfeld but with new fresh characters.

That's what makes it so agonizingly, frustratingly funny. :)
Like the parking thing... I was like "Just listen to him!! He gave the money to the other attendant!!" :)
The problem is that Larry handles the situations in a rather un-smooth and confronting manner... of course, it wouldn't be so funny if he didn't. :)
Remember in season 2 when Jeff's wife comes home while Larry and him are looking for the Judy-doll? She was pretty pissed off then too... but this was even better. And the look on Jeff's face when he realized that his baseball card collection might be gone was priceless. :)
And the conversation with the neighbors about the signature ended so great when the neighbor basically made it an ultimatum that he meet Julia, or else he wouldn't sign... you could see Larry's face turn sour, I almost expected him to punch the neighbor in the face right there and then. "Fuck him! Fuck him!" was an appropriate reaction... :)
Best comedy show on TV in years, hands down.

Of course I agree, it's the funnest thing on tv right now!
Last nights two eps had me rolling! I love the bit where he's racing that heavy-set woman up to the doctors office, and they're both struggling for position!
Yes, you can definatly agree that is reasons for being annoyed are sound and just, but the man doesn't know squat about how to behave in social situations..and I love him for it! :)
I think that the second ep of the night was one of my favorites of the series so far. As Micke said, the shot of him getting furious at being black mailed by that nieghbor in order to meet Julia is priceless stuff. And yep, his response to Cheryl in the bedroom are right on the money, except I would have said it to his face. :)
I love the part where he says to his manager after his wife stops yelling at him and goes into the room to look for her bracelet, Larry can be heard saying "I gotta get out of here she's out of her fucking mind!" That line had me ROTFLMAO!
