Alright,jumping into the foray, the Wife and I are doing this as a collective, both have to watch the movie at the same time, to add more to it we are letting profiler movie pick go random, so every time is a surprise. Actually this is working out better than i hoped we run the kids out and take control of the room for a while, make the popcorn, and try to make the theater experience.

Just one quick question about the rules as laid out by Chad. He said this was tracking theatrical releases only. Does that mean that the ext. edition of the LOTR trilogy doesn't count plus other direct to dvd movies.

They're extended versions of theatrical releases, so I personally would say yes. (And plan on doing the trilogy on Sunday.)

I would think you could also include direct to DVD movies too.

I've got no chance of finishing this year, what with being more focused on the TV challenge, but I do have a goal to cut down on my unwatched DVDs.

One of the things that i was wondering was the Looney Tunes Shorts (Gold Collection), The Disney Shorts (Walt Disney Treasures),or the two disc sets with the Warner Night at the movies. The shorts themselves were released theatrically, so i would think that it would count. At least I hope so, because I have a lot of animated material that is a break every so often.

But you would have to list the short by name, not by what disc it is on, i.e., Porky's Duck Hunt, not Looney Tunes Gold Disc 1.
What does everyone else think of this idea ? I mean i have some disc with newsreel footage, does that count?

Well I'm just about ready to give this up. As someone else has stated, I also find movie watching becoming a chore. I find myself not watching other movies just so I can get through my large collection. I'm going to scale back abit and take a breather and perhaps I'll still feel like continuing.
