I will be the first to admit I was wrong. Last season, I threw in the towel and vowed to never watch the show again. Well, after hearing about a Dwight spinoff series, and that season 9 would be the last season I changed my mind. I caught up, and finished season 8 shortly before 9 started. While season 8 was mostly a disappointment (still puzzled that the James Spader character was wasted in what could have been a great role) I thought season 9 has to be better.
It is.
This season so far, is very funny to me. I'm laughing watching the episodes again. They cut out a lot of the fat that detracted from the series.
I'm surprised how glad I am that Ryan, and Kelly are gone. Andy was a poor choice for boss, so what do they do this season? Send him on a boat exploration that takes him right off the show. Who knows when he will return, but I don't miss him either. No boss is the best bet.
It certainly isn't the best the show has ever been, but it is good. And while many people including some of my friends have cheerfully wrote this series off(like I did) I can only offer them advice to give it another chance.
