The article is more about The Love Bug, but that opening byline made my jaw drop...[IMG]

The first thing that came to my mind when I read the thread title was the episode of Scrubs in season 1 when Ted and his singing group did an acapella version of the Underdog theme song. [IMG]

This is the very same reason why we see Disney Stocks falling everyday, bad decisions. They would have been far better off doing an animated feature.

For whatever reason, I always thought Underdog would make a great movie. But why a real dog? I just don't get it!

Oh, well, maybe someone will get it right and make a proper Howard the Duck movie (with CGI) next time. [IMG]

I saw the preview tonight before Bridge to Terabithia. It's just...odd. I watched, and loved, the cartoon as a kid. That was a strange little show broken up into five minute segments. Making an entire movie seems a stretch. Making an entire Underdog movie set as a live-action movie with a talking Bassett Hound (or whatever it was) seems almost futile.

And yet, there was something likably silly about the trailer. It could work. It might be fun.

Hey let's not disgrace the memory of the hilariously bad Howard the Duck by comparing it to a clearly inferior movie.

I remember running home at lunch time when I was in kindergarten to watch Underdog cartoons. This movie is just wrong and one hopes it dies an ignominious death at the box office and spares the country yet another rape of their childhood (ala Garfield).

When I first heard about this I shuttered. Underdog was a childhood hero of mine. Then I saw the images and thought that maybe, if done right, this could work. That was four months ago after I heard about it. NOw...this thread here....with more images...a trailer...oh....ohno....noooooo....

*shutters out of cheap WalMart shoes*

This looks awful. Dogs everywhere should travel to the Disney HQ and piddle on the carpets.

The "One Nation Under Dog" tagline was cute. That's about it.

You know, I might have liked it better if it wasn't called Underdog.

I know Underdog, and you sir are no Underdog.
