And you'll probably have to LOOK at that name 24/7 if you watch the channel too. That's yet another reason why I don't accept onscreen bugs- if I don't like the network's name or logo, I at least shouldn't have to be reminded of it constantly!

"Tonight on Spike TV: WWE RAW followed by six hours of hardcore pornography. Only on Spike TV: Television for men."

hmm, I might wanna check this out! :) I'm a bit fuzzy on the type of shows that they'll consider to be "for men", because they, on occasion, show Goodfellas on Lifetime. ;)

And here I thought they were going to make it official and call it the ASTATT Network, which stands for All Star Trek All The Time. Sheesh, everytime I pass this channel I have to stare at Picard's bald head.

New logo unveiled:

Believe it or not, I think that may be worse than their current logo. The reason why that logo was chosen?
"Since the network now has a name like a person, it made sense to have a signature as the logo," said Trollbäck & Company creative director Laurent Fauchere. "Everyone contributed two or three signatures and we picked the best combination of male attitude and character."

Good thing I don't watch TNN/Spike TV at all.

I wouldn't want to look at that on my screen all the time. Maybe they'll be original and NOT have it on all the time?

*still trying to figure out who told the TNN suits that "Spike" is a human name*

When I hear "Spike", I think of the dog in the old TOm & Jerry cartoons. What gives?

Spike...uh....Martin

It's a human name, it's not that common.

This will be a train wreck. I'm 99.99999999% sure.

Oh come on guys... it won't be that bad!

I mean... look at that fabulous logo! Why, it just reeks of manliness. And that tough, butch MANLY name. "SPIKE". Oh yes. Why, I can hardly wait...

....to change the channel.

Jeezuz. :rolleyes

I was about to say the same thing about the logo, Tony. It looks like the logo for one of those fashion magazines for women.

If they get James Marsters to host stuff, I;m in. Otherwise, I'll probably never watch again.

Eh, who knows, maybe this will be one of those channels that would be fun to stop at when channel surfing. Kind of like E! or VH1. You don't want to watch them but you just can't resist.

Its is pretty stupid, though.

Is the message bar still being used?

I always thought they should experiment with it a little. Perhaps run it cattycorner across the upper right—in the magazine trade that's called a "swipe."

Or maybe two smaller message bars placed to each side of the screen, but with the logo in the lower center. While they're at it, the network should also run the date and time in the upper center of the screen.

Playboy magazine was branded "Entertainment For Men", so that should've applied to the Playboy Channel too- which BTW, actually IS showing the rabbit-head logo in the corner of the screen during all their programming! (My friend was getting it for free on his satellite dish for awhile.) When this nonsense started I joked that we'd know we were really in trouble if the Playboy Channel put a rabbit head on the screen!
