This must have been posted before.
You can look up the html specs but I guess the truly curious will download the 2002 catalog and the manuals (say what you will about Onkyo, but the sure do provide plenty of info to make the right purchase decision).

The 700 model (replaces 696) seems to make a reasonable mid range receiver or even preamp.
