anyone hear about this? it seems so wrong. elliot easton, greg hawkes, kasim sulton, todd rundgren, prairie prince. why? granted, benjamin orr is dead, but ric ocasek and david robinson are still around. rundgren is a pioneer, he doesn't need this.

I caught their performance on Leno this week.

I may as well have been watching a tribute band. I was expecting to hear something new, but what I got was Todd trying to sound like Ric on "Let the Good Times Roll".

I am a fan from back in the day when they first broke (I was leaving west of Boston at the time). I consider their 1st LP to be a classic, and I would rank Candy O as a close 2nd.

But this New Cars thing is just wrong.

Sort of like most new cars today.
Smell and look nice but they fall apart the 1st time you hit a pothole.

    Good one! [IMG]

And I'll add: nothing like the original model.

I heard of this a while back and thought it was a joke. I didn't see the show so maybe I need to see them to make a final judgment. No Ric? Rundgren is a legend, but he's not Ric. And when Ben Orr died, that left a huge whole as far as I'm concerned. I will however hear or see this lineup before forming a final opinion.

I guess someone spent all their $$ and need to pull on the spandex one more time

I never saw a band come back that was even a shadow of their former selves.
Pixies might be a decent show but I saw them many times the 1st time and don't want ot ruin it

Prairie Prince? Wasn't he in The Tubes? Well, a guy's gotta the bills somehow.

    Sincerely,

    John Kilduff...

Who wants to place a gentlemen's bet that the Cars will become like the Beach Boys and start spawning mutant groups that try to bank on their old fame?
