Can someone tell me where an artist even gets the huge slab of ice from which to start one of these ventures? Do they have to go to an Ice company and get a big block delivered? That's truly a fine piece of work. Never seen an ice sculpture use color however, what do they use for the color? Food coloring or regular paint?

Ive seen many, having worked in a hotel and the restaurant would have one made almost every evening.
This one is just so much better for obvious reasons!

Very nice! Here is a link to a Fireman's website with a story about the ice sculpture: Firehouse.com
In this link there is another picture of the sculpture with a man standing next to it,which helps illustrate the size of it. The article also states there is an ice sculpture contest in this Canadian town every year; the artist had won a number of times before and originally was not going to enter this year until she saw a photo of a fireman and angel.
    Thank you Canada!
