I’ve got some YouTube searching to do!
Another great late night rock show (not sure if it was at the same time) was USA Network’s Night Flight.

I’m glad they’re apparently adding more videos all the time. The only ABBA video (so far) is for Dancing Queen which was just lip synced. They also performed SOS, Fernando and Mamma Mia with live vocals over newly recorded instrumental tracks. Those are only available in the crappy old copy-of-a-copy versions. If I recall correctly, ABBA’s appearance was actually taped in Sweden, not the US. Other than their 1979 US tour they made very few promotional appearances in the US despite their hope of being as big here as they were everywhere else.

Have there ever been collections released on vinyl/CD/MP3? I’d forgotten how many great live performances there were! Even with some of the recently released career spanning boxed sets I don’t ever recall seeing any live tracks from MS. I have TONS of BBC live recordings (hell, Queen released an e album of them!) and I’d love to see them get legitimate releases.

The other day I viewed a significant portion of episode 56 from February of 1974, hosted by Gordon Lightfoot. This particular episode had a strong grouping of artists. The big attraction for me, in addition to Gordon Lightfoot's performances, was The Guess Who's rendition of Share the Land; introduced by Gordon Lightfoot at the 9:14 mark of the video...

For my money, Burton Cummings absolutely, positively has one of the greatest voices in the history of Rock music.

That one was something of a letdown, Sam.

Were they just playing records with weird B-roll videos that night? :D
I thought the same but didn’t get a chance to mention it. I’d love to hear the back story!

Now this is fire 🔥🔥🔥

I guess he just sings over top of a pre recorded track tho???
