I'm trying to decide whether I should buy The Matrix Revisited. Something tells me it's a disc I'd watch once and probably forget about but I'd rather hear advise from you guys. You see I'm figuring that these are probably all the extras The Matrix will have and when the special edition arrives the only new thing will be the transfer.

Anyway, in your opinion-is this disc a rent or a purchase?

    Travis,
I have watched it twice. Once when I got it, and again after I saw Reloaded. For the cheap price, I think it's a great doc, but it isn't terribly rewatchable. And I have no idea what the future The Matrix: SE holds. It depends on if you just want to see it, or if you are a collector, or a Matrix nut.

I wish I could give solid advice. I wouldn't pay more than $15 for it...in any case.

    Take care,
    Chuck

Depends how big a fan you are really...

I've watched it a few times now, it's a pretty good documentary that covers just about every stage of the film-making process. There's some good candid stuff with the actors too.

You should probably treat it as a companion disc to the original Matrix DVD, which was released before 2 disc sets started getting popular. Hopefully the Matrix Reloaded will have a documentary like this on Disc 2, and not just the re-hashed TV specials!

You can pick up quite cheap pre-owned copies now too..

I'd say, if you can get it for less than 10 bucks, go ahead. It's the same rationale I had behind picking up the Animatrix... it was cheap, I liked the movies, why not.

i'd buy it. i think i've watched it twice. it's really in depth, although i wish they would have more on larry and andy wachowski.

BTW, does anyone feel that larry is the more dominant of the two directors? everything i ever hear about the directors mainly focuses on larry.

I thought it was just a a slew of extras. I think I'll probably buy it. Thanks for the help.

It'll probably be included in the upcoming Matrix SE, so I'd advise hold out for that.

I'm holding out to see what the inevitable Matrix boxed set will contain. Hopefully it'll at least contain the first three movies and this disk.
