Head on over to IGN. They have The Matrix listed for release sometime next year.
Hopefully the game will live up to the movie it's based on.

They announced this a LONG time ago. It has a semi exclusive deal which makes it exclusive to the XB for at least 6 months, but after that, they can release it for PS2 or any other console.
Also, its not just the Matrix, but the series of game.

Don't hold your breath for The Matrix...
Shiny is developing the game, and while they usually have some great games (they created Earthworm Jim) - they are notorious for being very late with game releases...

Yeah, this could turn into Messiah - part 2. But it seems like Sacrifice came out pretty soon after being announced. The exclusivity deal for the Matrix on Xbox was really complicated. It's exclusive for 6 months, as someone said, but I think it's supposed to be exclusive online indefinitely, like where the only other online Matrix games would be flash games on websites.

Indeed. Microsoft effectively gave Interplay a giant loan in return for the six month exclusive on the Matrix game. The XBox version must be first & must have content that other conversions don't have - including online content.
However, if it slips past the deadlines in the contract, Interplay have to return the loan.... Which wouldn't be a good thing for Interplay's rather nasty bank balance.
