Great news. Looks like no more Zachary Levi unfortunately.

I am not happy about that. I thought that was a promising budding relationship, and I've always enjoyed the actor's performances in everything I've seen him in.

Yes.... I like his performances including the PBS broadcast of SHE LOVES ME and of course SHAZAM. But I guess the plot line for the series no longer has room for him.

I can't imagine the budget on this series with such extravagant sets and fully populated casino scenes (and they had to create the casino - there's no real casino that will let you shoot in one, let alone redecorate with period machines).

Season Three features some fabulous production scenes, camerawork like you wouldn't believe (weaving in and out and over and around scenes), the expected top screwball comedy fast banter, more Lenny Bruce, more Jane Lynch, and actual shooting at the Fountainbleau in Miami - where they had to redecorate the entire lobby with period furniture. Amazon spares no expense for this series and its spectacular visual appeal ( plus original music production numbers).

How many episodes are there for Season Three, though, because I got a screener (in a pink vanity case no less) that features 5 and that can't be the end where the fifth episode ends with so many plot-lines still in the air?

Eight episodes, just like the first season. The last three episodes aren't being released ahead of time. They'll go live with the rest of the third season a week from Friday, exclusively on Prime Video.

We watched the first episode of the new season this evening. I thought it was excellent -- the writing is still sharp, and the performances are as good as ever. I loved the bit with Midge's father and Lenny Bruce.

These shows have gotten REALLY BIG with production values. Look at all the extras for this first episode! And dance numbers! And complete renditions of songs. And also servicing all of the regulars and guests Kirby and Lynch.

This will make me wait until then, or maybe a few days before to start watching it. Anyone know why they're doing it that way? Seems like an odd strategy.

Apologies, I was working off of outdated information. The entire third season went live on Friday.

A random Prime comment. Why does Amazon make it so difficult to subscribe to the 4K version of their media? I can't even find them, at all, on my 4K ATV. When I search for them on the computer, I get lots of stuff ahead of what I asked for. I just searched "Maisel Season 3 4K" and there were about a dozen other results, including the non-4K versions of all three seasons of Maisel, before it finally gave me what I searched for.

If they have all this 4K content, and brag about it, why do they make it so hard to find?

I searched for "Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 3 4k" on Amazon via my PC and got right to the proper item, which I then added to my watch list.

However, this was one of the rare times I was able to easily find the 4K version of a show I was looking for on Amazon, so I completely understand where you are coming from.

I forgot to mention that I also limited my search to Prime Video.

That's funny. When I went to Amazon Prime, the big window proudly proclaimed the new season of Mrs. Maisel. I clicked on it, and it was the 4K/HDR version. I didn't have to search for it at all. It came right to me.

Amazon announced today the renewal for a fourth season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I still have two episodes to go on this season, but I am loving it. The subplots have all been SO interesting. It's no longer a one/two-woma(e)n show (though Susie has walked away with this season even more than last year).
