Premiered on Fox last night. I'm a pretty harsh critic (especially when it comes to comedies), but I have to admit, I was pretty entertained by this show. I wouldn't call it "laugh out loud" funny, but it was good for a few chuckles, and I was entertained for 30 minutes. The chraracters seem pretty likable, and Philip Baker Hall is great as usual. I will say the ending was very predictable and I saw it coming as soon as the Baker Hall character asked them to think about ways to cut costs.

Yeah I was actually surprised by this as well. Some funny off the wall stuff. It appears to be trying a tad too hard to be edgy but not as much as some other recent shows.

The continuity of the editing needs to get better though. Just watch all the mousetraps appear and disappear. [IMG]

Piper's rack should get their own credit in the opening credits.

I agree. It came off as a bit "goofy" at times (for lack of a better word).

Apparently there's another new episode on tonight (Thursday) at 8:30? Not sure why networks do this.

Hmmm... just the same old same old set in the... Chicago Airline Industry?

Well, once you get past that situation, it's decidely unoriginal. Much less interesting that Free Ride. It's got all the same characters that all the other twenty-something sitcoms have. And another will they or won't they romance. *sigh*

If they tack this on after Idol next week, I'll probably give it another chance. Otherwise, it's a pass for me.

Don't take this the wrong way...I'm just curious, but what does it being on after Idol have to do with whether you watch it?

Because I can just have the MyHD record the entire hour block, which it's set for already. It's not good enough for me to figure out when it's on and set up a recording for it.

Compare this to Free Ride or Sons and Daughters, which I specifically set up a new recording for.

Being on after Idol means I actually managed to watch it, as opposed to the other shows mentioned. [IMG] It was a pleasant surprise. Not a classic or anything, but definitely funny.

And I agree with Patrick about the credits!

Second episode wasn't too bad. I like most of the office antics and have always liked the actor who plays the main boss. He rattles off some good lines.

The friends stuff needs some work, or just less of it.

I did lol at the "we can find out how many times 24 goes into 48" line. [IMG]

I think I prefer the friends stuff. Although I do like Philip Baker Hall (the boss) as well.

After two episodes, I like it and will keep watching, but I could definitely see it get old quickly if they don't deviate from the "how many crazy things can I do the night before work" theme.

I got 4 big laughs from this episode, and couldn't believe what a nymph/alkie Rachel Boston played (a far cry from her days on American Dreams). This is much more promising than "Free Ride".

Wait. . .there was a second episode already??? When is this show on?

Did Fox hire a chimp to run their program scheduling?

I finally watched the pilot yesterday. It was ok but I dont think I will be watching again. It wasnt funny that he kept trying to get the girl and she kept going back with the guy. How long will they milk that? It seemed kinda pitiful to me. Cute lead but not enough for me to watch again.

While it was nice to see "Piper" from the Joe Schmo show, I didn't much like this 3rd episode all that much. But, that blonde regular, Lizzy (Sarah Mason), is moving up the charts for delectable eye candy on TV.

Yeah, the third episode was basically more of the same. Will it be an ongoing theme every week that the main character will get himself into some kind of trouble with the company and make a miraculous speech at the end to get him out of it?

I'm starting to dig this show. Not everything lands funny side up but I got a few good chuckles out of last nights episode.

I LOL'd everytime the translator would translate using the proper influction back and forth.

And learned a new use for the term rec room. [IMG]

The ditsy blonde stuff isn't working for me. And I still like the office stuff the most. It also appears to be the best 'shot'.

I don't know...I think this show has fallen for me to just a show I'll watch if I happen to have the TV on and see that it's on. I like the characters and it's funny at times (just less funny as the weeks go on), but it just seems to be the same thing every week.

This episode killed me, it's one of the few comedies that truly makes me LOL, not just chuckle at the funny bits.

BTW, Chen Ming's Mandarin was hard to understand.
